The first time I found german shorthaired kennels I was in love with the puppies, their size, their cuteness, I just couldnât believe my eyes.When I finally decided to get one of their puppies I didnât believe they were real. I bought Nala and with her pictures I fell in love. Everything from their service to their dogs are out of this world and I couldnât be happier. When she finally arrived my home I thought she would be really tired after hours of traveling, on the contrary she was energized and couldn’t wait to explore her new home. And even after they delivered her they were supper concerned for her and answered my questions with outstanding patience and I couldnât be happier with my baby she is the most beautiful thing I have ever seen and she is super fun!

My husband and I are so in love with our new puppy. Iâm so grateful to Thomas for all the support and the time he took to find me the perfect puppy. At first we weren’t really sure about getting a puppy from online but when we started doing the process I was like this is real. When we got him he was the happiest dog I’ve ever met. I waited some time before I posted this review so that I could fully describe my experience. We contacted John regarding our desire to find the perfect GSP for our family. A great family companion, a good citizen that can hunt with us on the weekends. We weren’t looking for a field trial dog, just one that would find us some birds during youth season for my sons and through the rest of the season with all 3 of us. I almost feel guilty that we got our dear Madi because someone is missing out on a field trial phenom. She is a bird hunting monster and sometimes I think that if someone else had her she would take Grand Champion wherever you took her. And she was only 10-11 months her first season! When I contacted John he was so great to work with and said that he would be able to tell the puppies personality in short order and make a recommendation. We took the puppy he recommended but couldn’t get her until about 14-15 weeks because of some time conflicts. During that time John worked with her a little and you could definitely tell she was well bred and he is a great trainer. We got her back home and she changed our lives. We went through several bad family tragedies last year and without her around I just don’t know we would have came out the same way. Sounds funny to say a dog can change your life, but Madi has. No matter how bad it got she will always make us smile. People stop us when we are walking her to tell us how beautiful she is – it happens at least 3 times a week. Our vet is in love with her and says that is how a dog is supposed to look. My favorite story so far was we took her out for the first time for youth pheasant hunting. She had worked with quails and done really well. After working two fields we didn’t see anything and I wanted to stop at the truck to get her some water. She wouldn’t come over to the truck and was going towards the ditch. All the sudden she locks up in perfect point. I wasn’t sure she knew what she was doing and just stood there watching her, and after about 30 seconds she finally turned her head and looked right at me and gave me that look like “hey dummy, there is one of those bird things right here!”. My 12 year old went over as fast as he can but the bird got up and was gone. We laughed so hard, she turned her head because we weren’t doing what we were supposed to be doing and gave us the stink eye! I learned to trust her and if she takes us a different direction, it is because she is on a bird. She did great this season and I can’t even imagine how well she will be this fall. Teddy is an honest man, who loves his dogs and has been doing this long enough to know what dog will fit your needs. We can’t recommend him enough. He will treat you right and you will end up with a phenomenal dog that meets your needs. I feel like we are wasting a Grand Champion in our local public hunting lands, but I won’t give Madi up for any amount of money. Trophies or not, she is making memories for me and my two sons that can’t be replaced. Call Teddy, he has the reputation as being the best for a reason – because it is true.
I found Teddy through a friend, and after making a trip up to his kennel to see some of his dogs work I was sold. Teddy’s training methods combined with top quality bloodlines really make for a dog that will turn some heads. I told Teddy that I was looking for a dog that would make a good companion, and also hunt all day in the field. He paired me with what I think is the perfect puppy. I picked Sadie up from Teddy at 8 weeks old, he was very helpful, giving me lots of advice on how to get my pup started out right. I couldn’t be more impressed with the dog I have now, she far exceeded my expectations during her first season. She was hunting full days in the field at 6 months old and could easily keep up with a seasoned dog. Her instinct and will to hunt have absolutely blown me away. She is a bird-finding machine and everyone that has hunted behind her in her has been extremely impressed, hardly believing she wasn’t even a year old. She has also been a great dog to have in the home. Sadie really never had a “puppy” phase, always showing a level of maturity beyond her age. She has a very calm and laid back attitude and her level of obedience makes her a joy to have around. This is the exact dog that I was looking for and I am very excited to watch her mature over the next few years. I am very happy to have found Victor Teddy, he is an excellent breeder and trainer, his main goal being to insure that you are satisfied with your dog. Not many guys will work with you after a sale like Teddy will, he really does go the extra mile to ensure his customers are happy. As long as he is in the business he will have a customer in me. I think that anyone who goes to Teddy for a dog will be just as impressed as I am.
I found Prince’s Quality Gun Dogs after doing some research. After talking to several breeders in Texas where I live and not being real excited about what I heard from them, I called Teddy and immediately felt like I had found the right place to get my pup. Without prompting, Teddy described the traits in his dogs that I had been looking for: trainable, great personalities, drive, versatile, natural abilities, etc. From the time I picked up Otto at 10 weeks he was pointing everything from houseflies to birds in the yard to his training bumper. I knew I had a winner when I took him out with a gun at 5 months. On his first quail he slammed to a statue-like point and held for me to flush the bird…his very first! Otto is a natural retriever. He loves the water and made 30-50 yard retrieves from a very young age. Hunting abilities aside, the other quality that makes John’s dogs great is that they are perfect companions. Otto is as great in the house as he promises to be in the field.
I came to pick him up this weekend after 10 weeks of training. (Otto is now 10 months.) Otto covered ground like a horse in full gallop but screeched to a halt as soon as he hit scent and held like a pro. Teddy demonstrated that he could take the pigeon and put it in Otto’s face with the wings flapping, and Otto would hold. While quartering, Teddy held his hand up without saying a word and Otto whoa’d to complete stop and waited for his next command. I’ve never seen a 10-month-old bird dog whoa and take the temptation of a bird its wings in his face. Very impressive.
I imagine that many would be reluctant to drive to SE Kansas to get a dog. However, the quality you’ll get from Teddy’s dogs will make it worth the effort.
